Engage, Educate, Empower: Englewood is still Standing Strong!

The Englewood Education Empowerment Summit 2013, hosted by the Englewood Community Action Council and friends, kicked off the New Year by bringing together educators, parents, students and community members to discuss, debate and celebrate education in Englewood. The Summit provided a space for innovative learning and networking activities created to first, Engage, then Educate in order to Empower community participants.

After the success of the first Englewood Education Empowerment Summit held last year, the Englewood Community Action Council is gearing up for the more robust 2.0 version of this event!

Englewood Parent Empowerment Series in Full Effect!

The Englewood Community Action Council (CAC) kicked off their first Englewood Education Empowerment Summit, back in January at Wentworth Elementary school located at 6950 S. Sangamon.  Parents, educators, community activists andstudents were in attendance ready to network and share best practices.

The time is now for the community and parents to work together for the betterment of schools in Englewood!Join the Englewood Community Action Council for our first Englewood Education Empowerment Summit on Saturday, January 14, 2012  at Wentworth Elementary 6950 S. Sangamon from 9am - Noon. 

State of Emergency - Time to Occupy Englewood Schools!!

More than half of the elementary schools in the Greater Englewood community are on probation (level 3) and some of these may soon be subject to school actions (closings, consolidation, etc).

Greater Englewood Community Action Council (CAC)

The mission of the Community Action Council (CAC) is to serve as a vehicle of empowerment for parents and community members who want to impact change and improve your local schools. Various CACs have been formed in the Humboldt Park, Englewood, Austin and Bronzeville communities in November 2010.
