Englewood Pastor Promotes National Black Museum's Inaugural Year (9-24-16/through/12-31-17)

1. Rev. Joel Washington (Khunanpu Sangoma), a resident of Bethel Terrace Co-Op Senior Apartments-Chicago as well as Pastor of one of the City's historic houses of worship, Reformation Lutheran Church on the Far South Side, has registered his ministry, as a Chicagoland partner, of the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY & CULTURE'S LIFT EVERY VOICE, the new DC cultural center's inaugural year-long celebration, itself their current local community engagement campaign-running from Fall 2016 through December 2017.
2. According to Mr. Lonnie G. Bunch, III, the National Black American Museum's Founding Director, "LIFT EVERY VOICE is an online initiative that encourages partners, organizations, and individuals who study, love and support African American history and culture to join our inaugural year celebration from specific locations."
3. Mr. Bunch adds that large or small "We want you to register your event with LIFT EVERY VOICE and become an official partner of the year-long global celebration of this unique addition to the realm of African American Museums."
4. The National Black Museum's invitation to partner with them locally in celebrating their inaugural year is a God-sent to Reformation Chuch Chicago's cause to preserve and restore our historic African American house of worship on the Far South Side" says Rev. Washington (Sangoma). "As John 10:27 proclaims 'My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me.' so too do we gladly embrace NMAAHC's call to partner with them in marking their inaugural year" the Black Lutheran Pastor adds.
5. Rev. Washington's (Sangoma's) planned signature event for lifiting up NMAAHC'S year-long opening celebration is that of promoting an AVA DUVERNAY FILM SERIES. Said series will occur August 25, 26, & 27, 2017. It will feature two Duvernay award winning films i.e., SELMA (2015) and "13th"(2016) as well as show Ms. Duvernay's AUGUST 28: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PEOPLE, commissioned by the National Black American Museum, each separately and on respective days.
6. Each film event will be accompanied by a panel discussion and a Jazz Candlelight Service celebrating the Museum, the 129th Anniversary of Reformation Lutheran Church, and the 6th Anniversay of Rev. Washington's (Sangoma's) Ordination & Comissioning to Englewood's Kennedy/King College African Descent Lutheran Campus Ministry.
7. More, Rev. Washington's (Sangoma's) late August 2017 DUVERNAY FILM SERIES will seek further promotional partnership with ARRAY NOW-Artists, Advocates, Audiences Alingned. ARRAY NOW was founded in 2010 by Duvrnay to promote the independent Black Films Movement. Please join us.
