In November of 2016 during the Englewood Quality of Life summit organizers unveiled the Englewood Quality-of-Life Fund to raise much needed funds for community projects. The Fund launched online on #GivingTuesday, November 29, at http://englewoodqualityoflife.com and the community raised over $15,000.
Due to the success of this campaign the fund was also gifted a matching grant of $35,000, McCormick Foundation gave $25,000 and an anonymous donor gave $10,000. One of the goals of the Englewood Quality of Life fund was to help buy new equipment for a local community football team at Ogden Park.

In 2016, the Chicago Park District's Ogden Park Vikings took home a championship trophy at the Junior Bears Mum Bowl held at Soldier Fields stadium. Although this mighty group of young men achieve the championship trophy, the team has been in dire need of new equipment for the last few seasons.
The Englewood community wanted to answer this call and worked hard to raise funds in order to award the team with a $5000 gift to help with new equipment this season. The total cost for new equipment for the entire team ranges from $30K-$40K, but the team, coach and staff at Ogden Park is extremely grateful to the community for this gift.
We expect to see this dynamic team in the championship again this year!
