Greater Vision Community Outreach (GVCO) is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) established in 2010 to measurably improve the well-being of disadvantaged youth and adults living in Chicago’s Englewood community.  GVCO’s philanthropic charter seeks to provide support to individuals who face obstacles that prevent them from participating in main stream society. We are driven by our Christian belief that all life is precious and an intrinsic duty to help those that cannot help themselves. Our vision, therefore, is to provide tangible pathways out of poverty for Englewood constituents that they may realize a better quality of life guided and inspired by faith based principles.

GVCO will have a stage one focus on the following pillars:
• Education
• Health and Wellness
• Career Development

GVCO understands that the need within the Englewood community is vast and varied. While there is an abundance of non profits in Chicago specializing in education, career readiness and quality housing, there exists a great need for support services that are often times outside the scope of an organizations core business model. Many social service organizations could realize better participant outcomes and retention rates by partnering with neighborhood organizations that can provide those needed supplemental support services directly within the communities served. With this in mind, GVCO will operate as a transitional support services organization to larger “big box” non profits within Chicago offering a continuum of localized support services that will provide participants with the foundation needed to be successful in other social service programs.
