The CivicLab is a space for innovation, education and collaboration for civic engagement and social justice. We operate the TIF Illumination Project that explains how TIFs work and what they do to our communities. We published the book "Chicago Is Not Broke. Funding the City We Deserve" which has short articles outlining $5 billion in sustainable and progressive revenue solutions for Chicago - you can learn more and a copy at www.wearenitbroke.org. We also offer short workshops on civics and public life through the POWER Institute. Our workshops include "Chicago 101," "Chicago Budget 101," "TIF 101," "Community Organizing 101," and "Grassroots Campaigning 101."
