What is Year Up?

Year Up is a one-year, intensive training and educational program that provides urban young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skill development. Students have the opportunity to earn up to 18 college credits, earn up to $153 a week and earn an internship with a corporate 500 company.

Am I eligible?

You can apply to be a Year Up students if you are:

- 18-24 years old

- High school graduate or GED recipient

- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have an employment authorization card

- Available 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for the full year of the program

- Highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills

- Of low to moderate income

How do I begin?

  1. Submit an interest form. Let us know you’re interested in applying. Find this form online at: http://www.yearup.org/students_alumni/main.php?page=student_interest_form
  2. Attend an Open House. Please call 312-726-5300 Press 1 to speak to an admissions representative to reserve your place.
  3. Submit an application. Find it at http://www.yearup.org/pdf/YearUpChicagoApp.pdf or pick up a copy from our office. Application Deadline is November 21st!
