Know Your Rights Youth Club

How do you know if you are under arrest? What do you do if the police stop you and search you? How do you access a lawyer when you are in custody? How can you teach others that “Silence is Power?” Come join us and find out for yourselves and how to teach your friends, family and community.

First Defense Legal Aid presents: Know Your Rights Youth Clubs. Join us for our free after school youth program that will prepare youth members with the knowledge and skills to lead their own Know Your Rights workshops. Our members will be trained and approved to conduct their own workshops as volunteer peer educators. By taking part in our unique program they will be eligible to receive service learning hours required by their schools. It is our hope that our youth members will continue to be peer educators after our program ends in June and that they will assist with creating another Street Law program again next year.

We will be meeting at Teamwork Englewood, Tuesday and Thursday-3pm to 5pm from now until June.

Join us and learn how to Know Your Rights and help your community!
